Hai teman-teman dalam kesempatan kali ini saya akan berbagi informasi apa sih yang dilakukan setelah install ulang ubuntu 15.10 setelah saya install ubuntu saya bingung apa sih yang harus dilakukan setelah itu saya cari-cari refrensi dan inilah kumpulan refrensi yang berhasil saya rangkum

1. Update the system

Hal pertama yang sebaiknya dilakukan adalah update agar sistem menjadi uptodate dengan repositori online. Lakukan perintah berikut:

$ sudo apt-get update

 $ sudo apt-get upgrade

2. Install Aptitude, Synaptic and Gdebi

Ubuntu software center sudah terpasang tetapi synaptic lebih cepat, lebih sederhana dan lebih mudah. Perintah aptitude adalah alternatif apt-get. Perintah gdebi sangat berguna untuk memasang file deb secara manual.

$ sudo apt-get install aptitude synaptic gdebi-core

3. Install Chrome and Chromium browsers

Browser tambahan yang lebih cepat dan lebih stabil.

$ sudo apt-get install chromium-browser chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra

Codecs package akan memasang codecs untuk menjalankan berbagai format video/audio formats (ogg, vorbis, theora, aac/ac3/mpeg4audio/h264/mov/mp3) via the html5 video dan audio tags.

Untuk memasang google chrome akses ke http://www.google.com/chrome/ dan download file deb atau download melalui perintah berikut.

# 64 bit
$ wget https://dl.google.com/linux/direct/google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb

# 32 bit
$ wget https://dl.google.com/linux/direct/google-chrome-stable_current_i386.deb

Selanjutnya gunakan gdebi untuk install file deb google chrome.

$ sudo gdebi google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb

4. Install flash player

Dalam Google Chrome sudah terpasang adobe flash player. Untuk Mozilla Firefox perlu memasang flash player plugin untuk linux.

$ sudo apt-get install flashplugin-installer

5. Install Gnome System Monitor

$ sudo apt-get install gnome-system-monitor

6. Install an Office suite

$ sudo apt-get install libreoffice

7. Install VLC player

VLC adalah the best media players untuk linux, yang dapat menjalankan banyak format multimedia tanpa codecs tambahan.

$ sudo apt-get install vlc

8. Install extra codecs

Memasang codecs tertentu yang belum terpasang.

$ sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras libavcodec-extra

9. Playing encrypted dvds

$ sudo apt-get install libdvdread4 $ sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh

10. Install Skype

Download file deb

$ wget http://download.skype.com/linux/skype-ubuntu-precise_4.2.0.13-1_i386.deb

Install file deb dengan gdebi

$ sudo gdebi skype-ubuntu-precise_4.2.0.13-1_i386.deb

11. Install Adobe Acrobat Reader

Download file deb

# download url 1 - ftp
$ wget ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/unix/9.x/9.5.5/enu/AdbeRdr9.5.5-1_i386linux_enu.deb

# download url 2 - http
$ wget http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/unix9.x/9.5.5/enu/AdbeRdr9.5.5-1_i386linux_enu.deb

# install dengan gdebi
$ sudo gdebi AdbeRdr9.5.5-1_i386linux_enu.deb

Acrobat reader dapat juga dipasang melalui repo partner Canonical.

$ sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://archive.canonical.com/ raring partner"
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install acroread

12. Install Dropbox

$ sudo gdebi dropbox_1.6.0_amd64.deb

atau

$ sudo apt-get install dropbox

13. Install Uget download manager

Uget adalah the best file download managers untuk linux.

$ sudo apt-get install uget

14. Install Gksudo

Gksudo adalah tool penting untuk  menjalankan aplikasi gui sebagai root.

$ sudo apt-get install gksu

Contoh

$ gksudo thunar

15. Install rar

$ sudo apt-get install rar

16. Install Java browser plugin

$ sudo apt-get install icedtea-plugin

Setelah terpasang lalu buka link http://javatester.org/version.html untuk verifikasi apakah java sudah berjalan.

17. Mematikan Apport

Menghapus tanda error yang selalu muncul setiap booting
Cek

$ cd /var/crash

$ ls

Hapus

$ sudo rm /var/crash/*

18. Install gparted

Untuk melihat, menghapus dan membuat partisi

$ sudo apt-get install gparted
